A winter card ..... just because!

Happy Halloween everyone!!
I don't have any spooky cards for you but I do have a sweet winter scene with the gorgeous Tilda!
I'm not sure what you call this kind of card but I just received one which my mother made and had to give it a go! It's really easy and creates a wonderful dimensional scene. I used this sweet Tilda on her sled and coloured with copics and cut her out. The paper is Bo Bunny and the snowflakes are the MS punch on beautiful glittery paper. I used a nesties circle to die cut the aperture. The ribbon I received as part of my candy win from Bev a while back.
I will enter this card into the Winter Wonderland challenge this week as it's an open theme. Also, the November months theme over at The Little Stamp Shoppe is to create a non-traditional coloured christmas card (I think this qualifies don't you??).
A side view to show the inside layers to the card
Thanks for stopping by and many apologies for my lack of posting this week. I have been busy crafting just not able to show. So with that said I will have some exciting news to share with you all next week!
I wish you all a wonderful and safe Halloween. My boys are very excited and thankfully the rain seems to have stopped. I hope I can craft a bit more tomorrow and have something else to post! Thanks again for all your beautiful comments!

Peeking Over ......

Hello there!
Ooooh, it has taken me a few days to get on my feet! Things have been pretty hectic around here with another round of visitors having landed on our doorstep for the next 2 weeks! I, too, have injured my knee so have been going to physiotherapy. BUT, at least we're all healthy - so I thank God for that!
Anyways, I received a fabulous birthday package from my sweetest mother with a bunch of crafting goodies in it (she is sooooo good to me - love ya mum)!! Today's card is used with a gorgeous new stamping set in it called 'Peeking over' from Woodware. I love it! They make the cutest cards I think! I've used the Friday Sketchers layout this week from Claudia which was perfect for this card and image. I coloured the image with my copics. The paper was also in my package and is Whoop de Doo by GCD Studios. I used my MS zigzag punch, some raffia and a prima flower to add the finishing touches. The sentiment also comes with the stamp set.
I also have to say that I have finally figured out how to watermark my photos. I've seen such beautiful watermarks all over blogland and although mine is very simple, I'm just so pleased to have done one all by myself!!!
I hope you like it and thanks so much for stopping by today. I thank you too for the beautiful comments that you leave - your words are always so supportive and encouraging!

Hi there!
I just wanted to post this DT call quickly from Heidi over at The Little Stamp Shoppe. I have decided to apply for it so have been busy this weekend putting some samples together. Unfortunately, I cannot reveal my samples until after the DT has been picked. But, it does mean you'll have something to look forward to in a couple of weeks! I do, of course, plan on posting before then , lol!!!
This is an opportunity though for all you Canadian Magnolia fans to apply for the DT. Heidi's shop is full of wonderful Magnolia goodies!
I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Sunday evening and I sure hope I can be back tomorrow with a card to show you.

Hugs & Kisses from Tilda!

Hi everyone!
I haven't yet used this gorgeous Blueberry Tilda yet from the 'Yummy for your Tummy' collection so I decided I should! I've used the fabulous sketch layout from A Spoon Full of Sugar for this week and I will also enter this card into the Copic Challenge 'Black'. This is the first time I've coloured black hair and it is quite challenging!! Needless to say I need lots more practice, lol!!!
The papers are from WRMK. I distressed the edges and sewed around the back panel. Cream silk ribbon, a couple of small Prima flowers and some pearl brads (that I won in Bev's candy) finish the card off. The sentiment is from Stampology (bought from Wal-Mart).

Here's a close-up of my colouring

Well, that's it folks. Thanks for stopping by and I always love reading your beautiful comments - they really do make my day!!

Cookies for Santa!

Hi there!
Look what arrived in my mailbox today - new rubbah!!! This is an adorable new set of stamps called 'Christmas Freckle Collection' from Little Loud Stamps which are available from PaperWorksCo. This is Jacob getting ready to leave his cookies for Santa. As this image also has christmas stockings, I'm entering into the Winter Wonderland Challenge this week.
The image is coloured with my copics and the stockings are paper pieced and then flocked at the top. The white rim of Jacob's santa hat is also flocked.
Paper is from BG Wassail pack annd I used the MS double scallop border punch, and some brown velvet ribbon on the side. The image is mounted on nesties Labels 8. The sentiment also comes with the set of stamps.
I hope you like it. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your wonderful comments.

Festive Wishes

Hello all!
I went with a festive card today and cut into my new BG Eskimo Kisses paper pad. I purchased this gorgeous branch stamp from The Stamp Barn knowing that it would be perfect for Tilda to sit on - and I was right!! Doesn't she look so cute sitting there?
I've coloured with my copics and went with this pretty deep pink to complement the green. I added loads of liquid applique and then glamour dust before heating it. I cut around the far end of the branch before using my oval nesties (my first time using that technique and I love it - so effective).
Ribbon, dew drops and a tree charm finish off the details on this card. The sentiment is from The Stamp Barn too.

A side view

A close-up of Tilda and the snowy branch!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your beautiful comments - they really brighten up my day! Hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

Friday Sketchers - My Guy

Hi everyone!
Woohoo - it's Friday and I can't be more thankful it's the weekend! I love the sketch over on Friday Sketchers today which is hosted by the lovely Carole. I've had new rubbah arrive in the mail this week and one of the things was this fabulous 'My Guy' set from The Greeting Farm. I adore these images - just perfect for the older/teenage boy.
I went with a colour combo of brown & blue for this card. I coloured using my copics and I paper pieced his shirt (paper is Chatterbox). I made the tag from a piece of kraft cardstock, spritzed it with water on the back and crumpled it up. I then used Frayed Burlap Distress Ink to add some interest and used my distressing tool around the edges. The arrows are a Cuttlebug die cut which I distressed with Faded Jeans and sanded with my Tim Holtz sandblock. The sentiment comes with the image set.
Thanks for your visit today, you are always so welcome and I love to see you here! Hope you have a fabulous Friday and start to the weekend!

Stamp with Fun challenge card - Introducing Posy!

Hello my crafty friends!

Oooh, another busy day with more family illness antics but at least I got a chance to ink up this fabulous new image from the new line Moonlight Whispers from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Posy! Isn't she gorgeous!!! I get such a 'french' feel from her - I think it's her sassy attitude (the 'wink') and her dress - very Parisian chic!!! I'm adding this card into her first challenge over on her blog here.

So I figured it was about time I stopped caressing my gorgeous Daisy Bucket papers and took the plunge and did the big cut! I'm so glad I did as I think they are so perfect for this young miss. I pulled the colours out of the paper for the image and coloured with my copics. The layout is this weeks Stamp with Fun challenge and have to say I love it!

I sewed around each panel, used nesties Labels 8 behind the image, lace, bosskut flourish die and prima flowers with spacers to add all those final touches. I then spritzed the card with Pearl Glimmer Mist and did a light dusting of Glamour Dust. And there it is.

Here's a close-up to show off the glimmer and glamour!
A close-up of Posy!
EDIT
I've added a birthday greeting in French to this card

Thanks for stopping by and paying me a visit! Hopefully I can get some more inky time in tomorrow! Take care and have a great evening/day (whenever you get to read this!!).

Fall Tilda

Hello friends!
A quick posting today as I'm just off to visit a friend this afternoon. I've coloured up this sweet Tilda. She was one of my very first Tilda purchases but I do think she's lovely! I've used the fabulous sketch by Mina over at Truly Scrumptious this week with the theme of Autumn. I've coloured Tilda with my Distress Inks and distressed the edges too. The back panel is embossed with the floral screen folder. I used 3 different grosgrain ribbons and a selection of leaves and buttons from my stash to embellish the card. The leaves blowing around Tilda are from a Fiskars corner leaf punch.
I hope you're all enjoying your day and getting your fingers inky!! :)

Friday Sketchers - A Christmas Card

Happy Monday!
I hope you're all well and enjoying your day today! I have used the gorgeous WOJ stamp that I won in Bev's blog candy - she is such a sweetie - just love the ringlets in her hair!! I coloured her with my copics and used the gorgeous sketch from Friday Sketchers this week.
The paper is Daisy D's and I embossed the back panel with the swiss dots folder. Adhesive pearls, a poinsetta prima flower and ribbon add the finishing touches.
Today is a holiday so I'm off back down to my craft room to make the most of some more crafting time before the rest of the week resumes and daily chores take over!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting me today! I love to see you here and hope you take the time to leave me a comment and let me know you came by!
I also want to post a quick thank you to Jacqui as I won her Wags 'n Whiskers Blog Hop candy - a sweet stamp from their new collection. I've been on a very lucky winning streak recently and am so grateful for the generosity of everyone out there in blogland!
Hugs,
Danielle x
Edit: WOW! Can hardly believe it but I won the whole release of Wags 'n Whiskers stamps from the blog hop. My lucky mom gets to have the stamp I won from Jacqui!

On a roll .....

Hello there!
I hope you're all enjoying a beautiful weekend! I spent a little time crafting today and have to say I've become a little addicted to this new (to me) card fold. I LOVE IT!! I think I like it so much because it's easy and it's especially perfect for the male cards as there's not much extra space to 'pretty it up'!
So, here they are - the second picture is a side view showing you how the card stands up. The first image is a stamp from B Line Designs - a vintage air balloon. This stamp has sat uninked for way too long! The sentiment is SU! and pierced with a brad and sits over the biege ribbon.

This second card is the ever-so-cute 'Froggy Gift' from High Hopes Stamps. It was an image I had already coloured in (with copics) so this was pretty quick and easy for me to put together. the back embossed panel is the Happy Birthday folder for the cuttlebug. I used twine to tie around the bottom of the image.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I love reading what you have to say and I always try and visit new commenters, so be sure to let me know if you're arriving for the first time!
Well, I'm off to have a soak in the bath and read my book for a bit! Enjoy your evening!

Sailing by!

Happy Friday!
Am I ever glad it's the end of the week! And it's a long weekend for us too - Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadian bloggers!
I've made this birthday card for my father who is turning 70. I found this fabulous card fold over on Connie's blog - don't you just love it! The link over on SCS is here. Super duper easy and perfect for a male card. The ship image is one from The Stamp Barn as is the sentiment. The photo hasn't picked up the colours particularly well in the first picture but the inside of the card (shown below) definitely picks up the blue tone of the cardstock.
I used the d'vine swirls cb embossing folder for the inside panel and nesties labels 8 to write the message. Chocolate brown satin ribbon threaded through the metal buckle adds a nice elegant touch to the front of the card. I also paper pierced at the bottom.
I'm adding this card in to the Stamp Something challenge this week (to use brown and another colour). Pop on over to their blog - you could win some copics!!
Thanks for stopping by - I hope I can get lots of crafty time in this weekend. I really need some good relaxing catch-up time in there!! Thanks for all the comments you leave - they truly have lifted (and always do) my spirits!

Do you believe in Fairies?

Hi again!
Wow - I am doing well aren't I? A second posting for today!! I have been admiring Mo's gorgeous illustrated images for a while now and finally bought some digi images last night. This is one of them - Christmas Holly Fairy - isn't she exquisite!
The card is quite simple and the image takes full centre stage. I coloured with my copics and the paper is from the BG Wassail pad. This weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge is to use a charm on your card so I added a little charm that says 'Believe' - quite apt I thought! I added adhesive pearls randomly to the swirly bits on the paper. Some ivory tulle tied in a bow and some SU! grosgrain ribbon add the final touches.
Thanks again for stopping by! Hope you all have a fabulous evening.

Tilda's Snowy Day!

Hi there!
After what has been an incredibly long week (and it's still only Thursday, lol) I managed to get a little bit of inky time to myself this morning. My son Joel was quite sick this week and Monday evening I ended up in hospital with him. He is fine now after having to take oral steroids for his breathing to improve. Scary moments I tell you, but thankfully my husband came home early from his business trip and is now back with us. The good news is that he didn't have H1N1, more likely just a regular flu which hit him particularly badly.
Anyways, enough of my family woes. I received this gorgeous Tilda image in a very sweet care package from my beautiful blogging friend, you know who you are!! Thanks a bunch!! This image was perfect for my new Bo Bunny papers which I've been dying to use. I coloured Tilda with my copics and pulled the colours from the paper. I used my fab new MS Icicle punch and used lots of stickles to make it sparkle! The sentiment is The Stamp Barn and the swirl is from my stash. I glimmer misted it and used Glamour Dust on it to add more sparkle! I actually think there's more glitter on me now than on my project, lol!!
Well, there you have it. Many thanks for all your supportive comments over the last few days - they really have meant a lot to me.
Hope you're all enjoying a beautiful day.
Hugs,

Health Update

Hello my friends,

I just wanted to let you know that my blogging time is going to be very limited this week as my middle son, Joel, is quite sick with the distinct possibility of it being swine flu. The doctor sent him for a chest x-ray today thinking he may have pneumonia (came back negative thankfully) but has swabbed his throat for the H1N1 virus. My older son too is not feeling well so I have them both off school now for the week.

My husband is away on business this week too so with that being said, if I get any blogging time in this week I'll be very grateful. I will hopefully have time to glimpse at your work but not to comment. Gosh, I hope this run of ill health comes to an end soon - and we haven't even hit winter yet!!

Thanks again for all your huge support and uplifting comments - they really mean so much to me, especially during difficult times like these.

Big hugs,

Danielle x

Welcome Baby Girl!

Yay for me - a second posting of the day! I made this sweet baby girl card using the fabulous Friday Sketchers sketch this week. I used some of my new K&Co baby paper - so adorable! This is actually Tilda with Sunflower but obviously I cut out the sunflower she is holding and added this other stamp from The Stamp Barn. I cut out the balloons and added gold thread for her to hold. I'm really happy with the way this card turned out - good thing too as my mojo has been seriously lost! I coloured with copics and added Prima flowers to finish off.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by again today - your visits are always so much appreciated!
Have a great evening!
Hugs,
Danielle x
EDIT I've just seen I won Bev's Whiff of Joy Blog Hop candy - woohoo - I'm so super excited! Thanks Bev!

Winter Wonderland - Sleigh Bells Ring.....

Hello there!
My mojo seems to be a bit lost at the moment - I'm really feeling kinda uggghhh (probably the weather) and not wanting to do anything (most unlike me). Ah well, I liked the challenge over at Winter Wonderland today, Sleigh Bells Ring, so I forced myself downstairs and got this card done. Geez, imagine having to force myself into my craft room - I hope this passes soon, lol!!!
The stamps are Magnolia and coloured with Distress Inks. I paper pieced the gift boxes and used Flower Soft for all of Santa's cuffs. I used liquid applique for his pom-pom hat!
The paper is a double-sided sheet from Bo-Bunny - I love the colours and polka dots! The MS border punch, lace and sentiment finish off the card. Oh! And I used a sweet little red jingle bell on the front of the sleigh - isn't it cute!! And it rings too :)
Well, there you have it. And I have my son sick again so it looks like another day at home tomorrow with another trip to the doctor. I hope you're all enjoying your Sunday before another week begins!
Hugs to you all,
Danielle x
